Image-Guided SRT

A Painless Alternative to Skin Cancer Surgery

Image-guided SRT is a nonsurgical treatment that uses low amounts of X-rays to kill cancer cells, allowing healthy tissue to grow back in its place. It is the only treatment with ultrasound imaging, so you and your provider can watch the tumor go away slowly. Image-guided SRT typically involves 3-5 short treatment sessions per week for 4-7 weeks. The Cedar Valley Center for Skin Cancer is the first provider to provide image-guided SRT and is the only clinic in northeast Iowa to do so.

Why Choose Image-Guided SRT?

  • Non-invasive treatment (no cutting, bleeding or pain)
  • 99% cure rate
  • No anesthesia needed
  • Short healing time
  • No impact on daily activities (can return to work immediately following treatment)
  • No reconstructive surgery needed
